Description
Artist’s Biography/Statement:
The pieces submitted here for consideration are cyanotype prints that use the light of the sun to create the image. These are one of a kind and are made by placing elements directly onto the paper
for exposure. These prints were made after the repeal of Roe v. Wade in the Spring of 2022. They focus on and use some of the herbs that have been used for their abortifacient properties throughout history (in particular, rue and yarrow). The work was made to honor the women who came before us who had to take their healthcare into their own hands and often from their own
gardens.
