Artist’s Biography/Statement:

I made this piece when I realized my Goddess-hood initially! But since then I’ve grown even more and I truly realize myself on so many deep levels. But why I make the art I make is for so many reasons; but one of the main reasons is to wake up other Goddesses. I’m not trying to say hey everyone, bow down to women as creator; no, I’m saying at least respect where your origin begins as a female! Stop disrespecting the Goddesses of this planet; especially when it comes to the sexual assault of the womb which all come from! Furthermore, truly the woman needs the choice in matters of rape, assault, medical, and even realizing a father maybe abusive to the child or her. Sometimes a woman’s safety is at stake and beyond that she will have to care for that child, with or without a man in her life. Women have to make choices for safety because we’re at the point where it’s not safe for us and we expected men to keep us safe. Nowadays it’s a rare find. But the love of a woman is mother and that will always be inside of her. Protect and love the Goddesses of life on this planet! Speak life into her!

Inspired by her indigenous lineage and the state of the universe; Phonetic Jawn’s abstract art utilizes acrylic paint on varied surfaces to portray her soul’s reaction to the state of the universe. Phonetic Jawn is also a culinary artist, music artist, and spoken word artist who inspires bold truth.
