Artist Biography:

I am a semi-retired graphic artist and web designer/developer, mixed media artist, printmaker, and art instructor living in Coldwater, Mississippi.  With Danielle Sumler, I am the co-founder, co-organizer, co-producer and co-curator of NASTY WOMEN Memphis.

Artist Statement:

Organizing NASTY WOMEN Memphis exhibitions takes over my life for months at a time and leaves little time for making art for the exhibits I help produce.  I don’t know how I would have coped from November 9, 2016 to date without this glorious distraction from the horrific fall of our nation under our idiotic “president”.  I hope we have made a difference.  I hope we will finally see that difference this year on November 3rd.

September 2020 was a deeply emotional month for me with the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  I don’t see how we can ever recover, but I am thankful we had her while we did and am forever inspired by her fierce spirit.  In tribute, I inked her onto the protest sign I made in 2018 for the Memphis protest of the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.
